There are some points for why expensive 
1. Compact size (it is easier to do correct thing in a large space, but when the size comes smaller and it would be more difficult to do it correct )
2. Premium Optical System with an expansive eye relief ( Regular prism model is it 70mm ~ 80mm, but Corsac 1x18 with 97.9mm eye relief )
3. Super Bright LED ( Makes reticle visiable in the direct sunlight )
